 THE PROGRAM

Our system is scheduled to help our athletes peak at the right time for tournament competition. Strength training as well as movement specific to tennis are a part of our weekly program.  Psychological and emotional sessions are the glue that helps all the pieces fit together, to create a complete player.  Video analysis is used regularly to chart progress technically, tactically, and also mentally.  Playing a match is more than just hitting a forehand or backhand. The player's mind is where the winners are created.

Tennis is about POINTS not STROKES!!!

I know this is probably not what you think, but it is the cold hard truth.  Having beautiful technique is great but it alone does not ensure victory.  Players have to learn how to construct points based on their strengths and weaknesses. What successful tennis comes down to is the ability to consistently play your strongest shots from the correct positions. High level tennis requires players to put quality shots together in combinations to maximize their potential.  The technical development is about giving the player the tools necessary to construct points.

McAdoo Tennis trains players to build points. The technical and physical development focuses on the individual to allow them to create points in their own style and personality.  The movement patterns and contact moves we emphasis helps the players use their athletic ability to enhance their games, not to make up for a lack of fundamentals.

FOCUSED POINT CONSTRUCTION IS THE KEY TO SUCCESS AND GROWTH

This developmental system is the foundation of McAdoo Tennis.  The players technical and tactical schedule is governed by this concept. Consistency is our main goal.  We teach players to understand that tennis is not about the highlight shots, but playing simple and solid shots to apply pressure.  The majority of points won in high level tennis are forced errors. Our players understand that forced errors count as much as winners but have another effect. They attack the opponent's conditioning.

Our system allows the students to understand the basic principles of winning tennis. Our program is the best possible because the fundamentals can be taught to beginning players all the way up to those competing in the pro game.  This is one of those rare systems that does not limit players to one game style but allows for individuality.  Players grow quickly after the basics have been learned, because we focus on creating tennis athletes who are movement specialists. All great champions have had two things in common: consistency within their game style and great movement.  Tennis is a leg sport at its bare essence and it is through the strong foundation of movement that we can learn to strike the ball consistently and win consistently.
